NEED Lab Updates

September 2023- Congratulations to Melina Amarante, Chanel Ramirez, and Melissa Giebler for presenting their posters at the FLUX conference! 

August 2023- A warm welcome to Luciane Piccolo, the new Research Scientist for BFY! Dr.Piccolo's work integrates developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience. We're so happy to have her at the lab! 

July 2023- Congratulations to Dayanara Sanchez, Angie Narvaez, and Aislinn Sandre for presenting their work at the ISDP conference! Dayanara and Angie presented their posters, and Aislinn gave a talk. Huge congratulations! 

July 2023- A warm welcome to Angie Narvaez, the new project coordinator for BFY! Angie was a full-time RA for BFY's Age-4 wave of data collection. We're so happy to continue having her work on the project!

June 2022- A warm welcome to Dayanara Sanchez, the new Lab Manager at the NEED Lab! Dayanara just graduated from Rutgers University-Newark in May, and we're so happy to have her at the lab! 

June 2022- A warm welcome to Angie Narvaez, the new full-time research assistant for the BFY study! Angie just graduated from Skidmore college in May, and we're so happy to have her at the lab!

June 2022- A warm welcome to Katie Diaz, the new full-time research assistant for the BFY study! Katie just graduated from Florida State University in May, and we're so happy to have her at the lab!

September 2021 - A huge congratulations to Dr. Noble for receiving the 2021 APA Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest (Senior Career) Award!

August 2021 - A warm welcome to Chanel Ramirez, the new full-time research assistant for the BFY Study! Chanel joined our lab as a volunteer RA, and is working towards completing her MS in Neuroscience and Education while in this new role!

August 2021 - A warm welcome to Renata Penalva, the new study coordinator for BFY! Renata volunteered as an RA while she completed her MS in Neuroscience and Education at TC, and we're so happy to have her continue on with the lab!

November 2018 -  Dr. Noble is delighted to be named to the APA's Committee on Socioeconomic Status!

 

September 2018 - Dr. Noble was invited to deliver Psychiatry Grand Rounds at the Columbia University Medical Center.

March 2018 - We are thrilled to announce our new National Project Director for the Baby's First Year study, Lauren Meyer! A hearty welcome to the NEED Lab Lauren! 

 

November 2017 - Dr. Noble was named the Wiley Distinguished Speaker and traveled to Washington DC to present the lab's work at the International Society for Developmental Psychobiology (ISDP).

July 2015 - We've moved! Come visit our new home at Teachers College, Columbia University!

 

March 2015 - Dr. Noble and colleagues in the Pediatric Imaging, Neurocognition, and Genetics (PING) study found SES disparities in brain structure throughout early childhood and adolescence, published this month in Nature Neuroscience. Our first paper with the PASS Network was also published in Developmental Psychobiology this month, reporting SES disparities in language and memory in the first two years of life.
